About Saskia Schuijt

My name is Saskia Schuijt and I have been working as an acupuncturist since 2003 when I started my own acupuncture practise. I have always been interested in people, health and holistic medicine. But it never crossed my mind that there was something like an Academy for Acupuncture when I finished secondary school.

Study

So I went to the university of Amsterdam to study Russian language. I was having some trouble with headaches myself around that time. I was sent to an acupuncturist who helped me a great deal. It was through this little detour I discovered Chinese Medicine.

I feel very lucky to be working as an acupuncturist. It is continously fascinating, challenging and a very rewarding profession to be able to help other people.
After a western medical base course I did the 3 year acupuncture course at the Anglo Dutch, which later became the TCMA.

Massage

During this period I also qualified as a sports masseuse. I took other massage courses as I thought this would be a good addition to acupuncture in my future practise.

In those years I also started my own massage company. I provide massage on site at companies and backstage at concerts and Festivals organised by Mojo Concerts. As Music is another passion of mine, it’s a great job to have even though it’s not a daily thing!

Amsterdam, The Hague and Leidschendam

After my graduation I was asked by my former teachers Marijke Pfeiffer and Paul Pelsma to come work at their “Centrum voor Integrale Geneeswijzen”  in Amsterdam. There I worked with great pleasure for 7 years until I started my own practise.

5 years later I moved my practise to Leidschendam-Voorburg to “Karuna yoga center” , a great place to work and close to home! But since I always shared a practise I felt it was time to have a workplace to myself.

In may 2019 my acupuncture practise has moved to : “de Uni ” on Jacob van den Eyndestraat 73  in Voorburg.

A lovely building close to the shoppingcentre on Koningin Julianalaan in Voorburg.  easy to access by car coming from the A4/A12 en A13.
